Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, demons, and sinister influences increasing in influence within the city.
Note: Key plot points for the latest installment of this adventure follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the premier party of adventurers who will split off from the main group to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table includes Teor (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Planners, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for players who are drawn to a classically intense fight-heavy gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment show why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a intense opening clash with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, striking the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then settled his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above the city, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants revenge.
- Kattigan knows Timmony and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
- However, their status as key figures in the powerful family could enable the party reach locations they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to The cleric for his salvation and will now go with him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The healer betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward the northern region in search of the antagonist.
What’s Next?
Based on the recent installment’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the participants to form the Explorers and Schemers parties.
Fans can anticipate finding out which players will be in which group in the season’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on next week.
